An Automated Client Finder with n8n

Published on · Joaquín Dati

Finding clients is one of the most time-consuming tasks in a small business: googling companies, visiting their sites, hunting for an email, writing everything down in a spreadsheet. It’s repetitive, and that’s exactly why it’s perfect for automation.

What n8n is

n8n is a tool for building automations by connecting “nodes”, like Lego pieces. Each node does one thing: search Google Maps, read a web page, ask an AI, write to a spreadsheet or send an email. You build it visually, without coding everything from scratch, and you can host it on your own server, which keeps you in control of the data.

A typical workflow

A client finder usually follows these steps:

  1. Search for businesses in a field and an area; for example, “architecture studios in Rosario”.
  2. Visit each website and detect public contact details.
  3. Ask an AI to summarize what the company does and what it might need, like a faster website or an online store.
  4. Save everything to a spreadsheet or a CRM, without duplicates.
  5. Draft a personalized message to review before sending.

The result is an organized list of opportunities with context, ready to work on.

What not to forget

Automating the search is not the same as automating spam. Use only public data, respect each country’s data protection laws, write genuinely personalized messages and always offer an easy way to opt out. A thoughtful message to ten companies beats a generic one to a thousand.

Why it’s worth it

Automation doesn’t replace the conversation with the client: it prepares it. It takes the mechanical part off your plate so your time goes where it matters, which is understanding what the other person needs and offering something useful.
