A Chatbot Inside WordPress to Manage Your Site’s Content

Published on · Joaquín Dati

Anyone who runs a WordPress site knows the scene: a tiny detail needs changing, like a price, a date or a photo, and the hunt begins. Which page was it on? Was it a post or a project? Where do you edit that section? To solve that, I built a copilot: an AI chat that lives inside the WordPress dashboard.

How you use it

You talk to it like a teammate, with no special commands:

  • “Change this project’s year to 2025.”
  • “Find the pages still in draft.”
  • “In the bakery project, where it says 120 meters it should say 180.”

You can also drag photos into the chat: they’re saved to the media library and then you tell it where they go. Every time it makes a change, it shows a card with what it did and a button to review it in the editor.

The most important part: limits

Giving an AI access to a website can be scary, and rightly so. That’s why the copilot works inside a “pen”:

  • It can only use the actions it has been granted, and only on the allowed content. That limit lives on the server, not in the AI’s instructions, so it can’t be “talked into” crossing it.
  • It never truly deletes anything: the most it does is move things to the trash, where they can be recovered.
  • It doesn’t touch the site’s design or code.
  • Depending on the setup, it can ask for confirmation before every change or only before important ones.

Who it’s for

For businesses and professionals who want to keep their site up to date without relying on a developer for every change, and without fear of breaking something. The copilot finds where everything is; the person just says what they want.

What’s next

AI doesn’t replace the WordPress dashboard; it makes it friendlier. It’s an example of how smart tools can bring technology closer to non-technical people.
